How do I begin?
The initial consultation is a good time to explore how you feel about booking your
first session. Oceans Psychology consistently champions our clients' autonomy & agency in their
own lives & value transparent informed consent. We understand that it is impossible to know for
sure if someone is the right therapist for you just by looking at a website. Human beings are
much more in depth than that & the initial consultation is scheduled to ensure that booking a
first session makes sense & will serve your greater good.
When booking your first session you will receive intake paperwork and a document on our practice
policies via email after booking your first session with us. You’ll complete these forms prior
to your first session, which is an intake session. An intake session is a time to get to know
you, your history, what you are wanting out of therapy, create goals and a custom-tailored
treatment plan for you.
Throughout the course of treatment, we will continue to assess your improvement to ensure you
are receiving the right treatment and support. Every person is unique so this is not a one-size
fits all approach; the treatment plan is designed specifically with you in mind.
